Application Information and Forms

UC Davis Summer Sessions are open to:

  1. Students of all institutions of higher learning or continuing education.
  2. Graduates of secondary schools.
  3. High school students who have completed their junior year and have been recommended as capable of handling freshman introductory courses in the university (you must complete a verification form and follow the registration process for non-UC students).
  4. All persons over 18 years of age who have sufficient maturity and aptitude for the work they intend to undertake.
  5. UC career staff. Admission to Summer Sessions is a separate procedure from regular admission as a degree candidate and does not guarantee or imply admission to the fall, winter or spring quarters at UC Davis or any other UC campus.

Continuing UC Davis Students

You are a continuing UC Davis student if you attended UC Davis in spring 2008, or are returning from a planned program such as Washington D.C., ICE, ICV, EAP, PELP, etc., and plan to graduate during the summer or register for fall 2008 at UC Davis. If you are a continuing UC Davis student you will enroll in summer courses using SISWeb beginning in early May (exact date to be date to be determined), 2008, at your specified start time. No Summer Sessions application is needed. Please refer to the registration section for more information.

Non-UC Student

If you are 18 years or older and one of the following, you are considered a non-UC student:

  1. Previously graduated from UC Davis
  2. Filed to graduate from UC Davis in spring 2008
  3. Never admitted to UC Davis or another UC campus
  4. General public
  5. Previously attended Summer Sessions only at UC Davis
  6. Visiting from a non-UC college or institution with or without a college degree
  7.  High school students who have completed the junior year and have been recommended as capable of handling freshman introductory courses in the university. You must complete a verification form and follow the registration process below.

Non-continuing UC Davis or Other UC Student

You are considered a non-continuing UC Davis or other UC student if:

  1. You are a UC student currently enrolled at, or admitted for fall 2008 to a UC campus other than UC Davis
  2. You are a newly admitted to UC Davis for fall 2008
  3. Have withdrawn from UC Davis
  4. You have been dismissed from UC Davis
  5. You are continuing on the Planned Educational Leave Program (PELP) or returning from PELP in fall 2008

Registration Process for Non-Continuing UC Davis, Other UC, or Non-UC Students

Complete a Summer Sessions application form. Once you have completed your application form, submit it to the Office of the University Registrar, One Shields Ave., Davis, CA 95616; fax it to (530) 752-6906; or bring it in person to 12 Mrak Hall from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If you are a non-continuing UC Davis student, submit a copy of your UC identification card with your application.

If you are newly admitted to UC Davis or any UC for fall 2008, please submit a copy of your admission letter with your application, in place of a University of California ID card.

An admission letter or a UC Davis ID is not required if you are a non-UC Student. Additional information can be found in the registration section.

High School Students

High school students are required to submit a completed verification form from your high school principal/counselor stating your GPA and qualifications to take certain courses, and an application form to the UC Davis Office of the University Registrar either in person or by mail before the start of the appropriate Summer Session as listed in the Summer Sessions calendar. Fax copies will not be accepted.

UC Career Staff

If you are a UC career staff employee with a non-ending employment date, you are eligible for reduced Summer Sessions fees. TA, RA, PGR or casual positions do not qualify for this reduction. A UC Career Staff Reduced Fee Authorization form is required.

Submit your UC Career Staff Reduced Fee Authorization form to the Office of the University Registrar, 12 Mrak Hall. If you have any questions, please call the Office of the University Registrar at (530) 752-3639.

Paying Fees

Pay your fees at the Cashier’s Office, 1200 Dutton Hall, or online at mybill.ucdavis.edu. Your university account will be billed once your enrollment is confirmed. Please see cashier.ucdavis.edu/student/billpay.cfm for information about available payment methods.

Enrolling in Courses

Once you submit your application form, you should receive an e-mail three (3) business days later, which will include your UC Davis ID number and additional instructions on how to access SISWeb.

If your application form is received on or before May 1, you will be able to access SISWeb registration on the date to be announced to enroll in your courses.

If your application form is received after May 1, you will be able to enroll approximately three (3) business days after your summer application is received (but no later than the date to be announced).

If you attended UC Davis prior to summer 2008, you will use your previously assigned UC Davis ID number to access SISWeb.
Once you enroll using SISWeb, you can query your outstanding balance through SISWeb or at mybill.ucdavis.edu. Your university account will be billed for fees once your enrollment is confirmed. You are responsible for paying your balance by the fee payment deadlines noted in the Summer Sessions Calendar. No bills will be mailed to students.
