*Summer Campus Fee: This fee covers the following services and initiatives: Student Services, Memorial Union, Student Health Center, Counseling and Psychological Services, Unitrans, Recreation, Student Facilities Fee, Facilities and Campus Enhancement Initiative, and Campus Expansion Initiative. The Provost has directed that all registered students must pay all elements of the summer campus fee with the exception of UC Davis career employees who are also registered students. This directive is consistent with the language included in the referenda for campus-based fees voted upon by the students. The fee is mandatory for each summer session and applies to all teaching modalities, including in-person and remote learning.
**Spring Graduates: Current UC Davis students filing for spring graduation are considered non-continuing for summer and pay the Non-UC Student and Summer Campus fees.
Returning UC Davis Students (Canceled, withdrawn, dismissed, or on Planned Educational Leave Program (PELP) for spring 2023 (Readmitted for fall 2023): must submit the Non-UC Student application, but will not be charged the non-UC Student Fee.
Course Materials Fee: Students may be charged fees in some courses for the use, rental or consumption of materials, tools or equipment, or for the costs of materials or services necessary to provide special supplemental education experiences. For example, course material fees may cover the cost of chemicals and glassware for science laboratory or art supplies for studio classes. They also might cover film rentals, field trips or the purchase/rental of specific equipment. Course Material fees are non-refundable. For the current Course Material and Services Fees list, please visit Tuition and Fees https://financeandbusiness.ucdavis.edu/student-resources/tuition-fees
Late Fees: A Late Fee will apply to tuition and fees paid after the posted Payment Deadline. Refer to the Master Calendar for Student Fee Payment Deadlines. Students who enroll for the first time after the payment deadline or those who re-register after being dropped for non-payment will be assessed a Late Fee. Fees will post to MyBill and students are responsible for monitoring their account balance.
Drop for non-payment: Students may be dropped from classes in Summer Session 1 and 2 if they have not paid Summer Sessions fees and any outstanding balance due by the Student Fee Payment Deadline. Special Session classes are not subject to the drop for non-payment process and students should carefully review the specific refund deadlines for courses held in this session.
Summer Financial Aid
If you qualified for financial aid during the academic year, you may qualify for financial aid this summer. If you were at a community college, you may have more financial aid available if you take summer courses at UC Davis. To receive financial aid at UC Davis, you must have the following:
o A FAFSA or California Dream Act application on file (include UC Davis’ federal school code ‘001313’ on the application).
o A Summer Financial Aid application on file.
o Please see the Summer Eligibility and Application Process on the UC Davis Financial Aid web page for more information.
Students who qualify for financial aid must take at least 6 units during the summer. Financial aid is disbursed in the session in which you accumulate 6 units (so if you take 3 units in Session 1 and 3 units in Session 2, you will not receive aid until session 2).
